I have a lot of pics of tubbed trucks, most taken from Ebay auctions, but the seller rarely includes pics of the inside of the box...or if they do, the truck project hadn't progressed to actually getting the tubs welded in yet. This is the only one I could find. I've seen several others though, so I must not have saved them. I saw one truck where the 'builder' used 55-gallon drum 1/4s as the tubs.

it is not to difficult to tub the rear of these trucks. when we did mine we boxed the frame in three spots on each side. then we notched the frame above the axle for clearance because it is also lowered. the frame was boxed were the front and rear spring hangers are located, then we took the factory spring hanger and relocated them to the inside of the frame putting the right hand ones on the left side and vice versa for the other side. i have a picture that you can kind of see how it was done but i have tried several times to post and i can not get the picture size correct. maybe i could get somone on here to do it for me????? thanks, bill

i finally got my pictures posted in my gallery with keiths help. i do not have pictures of the bed because it is not don yet but you can see how we did the frame work.

The way you mounted the Leaf Springs is one way I had thought of but was not sure as someone told me not to (wont listen to him again) .

What all is your FE 390,428...Stroker...est ??

thanks cobraf100. the leaf spring set up works great. i had someone tell me not to do it also but i did not listen to him. my buddy has a 77 dodge that is done the same way and it hooks pretty good and no driveability problems. my engine is a .030 410, balanced, comp 280 cam, stock adjustable rockers, holley streetmaster intake and 750 holley carb. it is attached to a built c-6 with a 2400 stall. it has the nine inch with 4:11 gears and mickey thompson 29x18.5x15 sportsman pros. i have had this truck since 1986. been a long process but it should be fun when it is done.

I'm running a 280H now but not much longer as the new FE will have a even bigger cam in it.

What rear Centers w/gears you got laying around you want to get rid of?

With those 4.11 gears what RPM's are you turning at about 65mph??

hey cobraf100! the only diff i have right now is a 3.50 open. not sure about rpm at freeway speed yet as i have not driven it yet.

OK, the truck I was thinking of that used barrels as wheel tubs is back up on Ebay. Now that I'm looking at it again, I don't think they're actually barrels, but it sure looks close!:

there just round wheel tubs. they my be a alittle different style. summit has them page 196 if you got your new book. they come in steel or aluminum. theres a pic here

Hey I just found this post and I really like Pro-Street Ford trucks, I have
did two by moving the leafs inboard, and leaving the factory leaf mount
right were they came factory! I think this way of Pro-Streeting our trucks
is a lot better than cutting them in ( HALF ) I have some pics of the way
I did my old 65 (leaf shots) also some pics of a 77 that I did years ago.






P.S the tubbs in the 65, I made from a big round heating oil tank, I cut the
ends off and, in half. it is a stepside so they only need to be 8 in wide.
I dont have a pic of tubbs yet.
