Does anyone know the spline count for the acles in a 68 ford 9".

Right...'72 was supposedly the last year for 28-spline units and '73 was supposedly the first year for the 31-spline units. However, I've heard of a few rare instances of a late-'72 truck with a 31-spline setup and have also heard of a '73 with a 28-spline setup. However, those are rare enough that they're almost not worth looking for.

So 73 up should be 31 spline? I have pulled I don't know how many axles looking for 31 splines and never found any all were 28 spline. These were all mid to late 70s trucks.
