Post by mr.skaggs »

i have a '69 f-250 camper special that im putting back to orginal condition.it is taking a long time to do but it is my hobby..this website has been of great value on looking for the correct parts and i have came across a very good way to remove rust from parts without damage to the part ..it takes time but no abrasives to wear off the numbers or castings!!

t19-148 is just the BW part number for the top plate. You probably have a 4.02 first ford T19. They're a good tough tranny, but don't have a granny gear. Don't use this transmission unless you have tall rear gears and do not need granny.

Muncie is a division of GM powertrain. The T19 is made by Borg Warner. A T19 should not have anything to do with muncie cast into it.

They're bulletproof. It may have a granny, but more than likely not. There are three different first gear ratio ford T19's. Most of them are the close ratio 4.02 first transmission. You can very simply count the input turns to one turn of the output in first gear.
