POLL: Tire Size

Post by Zeke71250 »

I did a Forum search for "poll" and didn't see this one - although the question is asked a lot.

12x16.5's Yes they still make them. Got a like new set of 10" wide
rims, but I think they'll tear the front fenders off.

Any one tryed 10"s on the front?

you got some gravel to pack down or somethin'? :D i ran 8's on the front with a 2" offset and the fatcory off set is around 3.5 or 4", so i guess they would work with the stock ride height. better get a steering damper though.

You know, I think Sharkdance has 15x10's on his F250... with 31-10.50x15's.

The 2" offset ones, were those the chrome smoothies?

Were the front and rears the same?

Barry,

What's the size and backspacing on your rims? Are they the same size and offset all around?

Just wondering.

I'm pretty sure the front rims are 8.25" wide and the rears 9.75" wide. As far as everything else I can't remember, will have to measure.

Sorry. :dk:

yes, and yes. the track width is wider in the front so a 7" with factory offset in front and the 8" with the 2" offset in the rear make the tires track the same width, or close enough that it looks better.

I dunno what factory size is but I normally run 30×9.50/15 on 7" wheels on all 4 corners of my SWB 4×4.

If I'm going out to play in the desert, I'll sometimes swap the 33×12.50/15's on 8" wheels from my Jeepster . . . They air down a lot better.

Now there's some new info for me to chew on... Thanks!

The "wider in front" look is not something I'm fond of... it only looks good on a forklift. :2cents:
