On my column the arrow pointing at which gear i am in has a little slack. It doesnt point direclty and the gear it is in.
I isolated it to the bushing that attaches the rod to the manual shaft linkage.
Does anyone know what i could do about this? I was thinking a wavy washer. But i would like something a little more permanent than just a problem patch.
Let me know guys, thanks

re: Trans linkage looseness
Here's the guy you want:
You have to adjust this "trunnion" block. Twisting the nut on top should move the lever up or down. Give a few turns while it's in neutral (engine off) and check it to see if the indicator is moving in the right direction.
Be advised: If you get too much tension on the selector arm by doing this, it won't hold Park and will drop to Reverse. (Mine doesn't anyway so I always leave it in N and hit the P brake)
Might want to give it a squirt of PB blaster or WD first.
