Need a pic of a sway bar

Post by jbanks »

Need to know what to look for when checking out a camper special to see if it has the factory sway bar.

For the sake of my own pride, I believe I would recognize one if I were looking, but it's for someone else who's looking.

I dont have a pic but if you look aboyut half way up the radius arms there should be two bolts holding on a round bar that extends between the radius arms. I'll trey to get a pic in a few mins!!!

So, Keith.. when you are going to start making a sway bar kit for our trucks since no one else does.

Make some money for the site, and your truck, and your chillin's college funds....

No, you don't want the one that extends between the radius arms. Just find yourself a '73-'79 Camper Special and grab the front-mounted swaybar and mounts from that, it's a direct bolt-on, no mods required.

I got that sway bar when i did my disk brake swap and it acually did improve handleing a little the biggest problem is you have to change the radius arms over to the ones with the hole drilled in them!!!

LMC, BOTP, NPD, Summit Racing all have sway bars.

65-79 used the same basic suspention so the after market sway bars will work on all of them.

ACO-113 for the front at Summit Racing.
ACO-209 for the rear at Summit Racing

$150 each

Here's a pic of an Addco ACO-113G installation:

If you're good with mild fabricating, you can easily adapt just about any swaybar. Here's one from a Ch*bby that someone installed with homemade brackets:
