Flex-O-Matic rear suspension

Post by rubiranch »

How common is the Flex-O-Matic rear suspension?

Was 72 the first year for it?

Was it available on more than just the 8100 GVW package?

Just curious.

Thanks

What is the point of this spring? I have it on mine, is it for heavy loads, or softer ride?

Both. It acts like a helper spring. It makes for a softer ride, then when loaded it tightens up.

Try this. Run one side of the front wheels up a 4' bank. Look at the
back wheels. There still on the ground! It works.
