trans info

Post by bigman78 »

I was looking at the vin decoding page and under the trans on my tag is an A. It says that this is a 4-speed new process. Does this mean that its an np435? Also my body code is K81, what does this mean? What was the original color if my letter is F? I believe that it was a light blue.
Thanks for any help. :fr:

Yes, when your truck was built at the factory it was equipped with a NP435.

K = Blue, Standard Cab w/Custom Cushion Woven Plastic seat
81 = standard cab (not a chassis/cab, chassis/cowl, etc.)

That 'K' code isn't included on the '67 VIN data page, but in the '67 Body Builder's Manual I recently got it's listed there...so I need to get that page update to include it.

I haven't seen any listings for an 'F' paint code for '67. To the best of my knowledge they didn't use that code until '69, and then it indicated 'Arcadian Blue'.

Sweet, as far as I know this trucks stock color was a light blue. Hence the name old blue that my uncle refers to all the time.
