tim i think the 3 speed trucks had the low hump and no replaceable floor pan. the autos and 4 speed got the high hump and the replaceable floor pans. i know on 78 and up the autos got a high hump without a removable floor pan

If I understand right, the lower profile cover is not removable without cutting it out, and the taller profile one is a bolt in unit.

Looks like someone only had a claw hammer in their tool box! I think my grandfather had a 69 or 70 LTD parts car that had a 302 with a C6 in it.

My 69 had a 360/auto and it has the removable low hump in it.

the 68 I have originally had a 3 on the tree and therefore the short (solid) floorpan hump. Someone before me converted the truck to 5.0 and used a C-6. It's so tight, it's ON the floorpan rubbing, but since it had been running this way at least 10 years that I know of, I left it alone when I put things back together (different 5.0 engine), plus I was not restoring the truck. I do kinda wish (now) that I had taken the time to make a hole and separate cover for more clearance. Honestly, if I had been reading this webcite and knew there were different size transmission tunnels, I would have probably done that when I had the drivetrain out and front cap off. Banjo in Ala.
