Any reason they'd tell me that a 76's booster won't fit?

i have found that the best time to go to the parts store is when the old man is working. usually the mon-fri 9 to 5 because he has the senoirity. they aren't afraid to open the books and work with you. after hours and weekends when the kids are working is just a waste of time unless it's a straight foreward deal and even then it can be frustrating.

At least ya'lls counter people know what points are. I was at an Auto Zone in San Angelo and had to spend 10 minutes explaining what points are to a counter guy there. Well, maybe not 10 minutes, I think I split after 3 or 4
It occured to me later the truck is much older than the counter guy.
There's a local mechanic/parts store in my itty bitty little town, guy's an old muscle car head, stuff costs a little more there but it's well worth it. The guy knows what works and doesn't, and stopped by my house one afternoon to see how I was doing with the parts I had just bought from him.

How can you say no to that?

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

I kid you not, a guy walked into the local AutoZone (which I now avoid like plague).
Guy: I need 3 lug nuts for a 1991 F-250.
Counter person: Front or rear?
I never buy anything any where except O'Reilly and NAPA (or mail order) but I do occasionally enjoy going in and asking for sparkplugs for a blue 4 door buick. When they ask questions I make stuff up.
