New project - a bump and a fox

Post by Hoofbeat Racer »

Hello everybody :D

I am happy to be part of this site. I am an avid member of FordTruk.com (formerly Slick60s) and hope to be able to contribute to this site as well. It looks to be a first class operation.

I am about to purchase a really sweet 72 F100 swb 302 4 spd. It is under a half inch of dust in a garage for the last 10 years. It is a rust free truck that needs the rear end reassembled and the trans put back in.

I also have access to an 84 mustang gt that is mech sound but an absolute rust bucket. My immediate thoughts are to put the 302 and the 5 spd from the mustang into the 72.

What other treasures can I use from the mustang. Fuel tank, brake booster, front end, rear end?

Any input would be appreciated

Thanks for the welcome guys.

As I stated, I have not bought the truck yet so no pics (sorry)

To show that this is in good faith and I take my Fords seriously, here is a link to my album on the 61-66 site. This truck is almost complete, hence my wanting to start on a bump!

Hello and welcome, Mark! Seems like I have read about people putting the whole front end from those year Mustangs on to our trucks, as in cut the frame off and replace it, but I could be FOS on that. Just something that came up out of my memory from somewhere.

Matt you are correct, I have seen a Fox body front end with it's tall Mcpherson strut towers and all in pics somewhere too.. doesn't strike me as a very easy or practical swap, but it's been done.

Welcome to Mark, now there's a couple guys I know personally on this site
