I thought about the NV4500 but dont want to shift all the time and long throw. Then thought about the C6 and gear vendors to get the overdrive. Then just decided to use the E40D since the 460 will also be EFI it should all work then of course the BW1356 transfer case is to wide for the frame rails so have a clock ring for 20 degrees and should all work in theory..

The BW1356 will fit fine in a highboy. You just need to notch into the lower frame lip 1.5". It makes for a pretty rough front driveline angle though. You pretty much have to go high pinion front axle if you want to use 4wd and not toss the front driveline every time.

The NV4500 is a real short throw for a truck tranny.

with the 20 degree of indexing from the clock ring they say should be close to a 6" lift and wont have to notch the frame rail (I have a 12" inch lift)

That's one spendy piece of aluminum there! I'd say pull the index pin out and redrill the transmission adapter to clock it where you need it. Or just bolt up a 205.

Is the 460 E4OD a 32 spline output? I've put several 205's behind late model ZF 5 speeds, but never fooled with the autos before. You can buy atleast two mated ford 205's for the price of that little clocking ring.

Ive read the 205 will fit on it but there are issues like the linkage not fitting and the front shaft hitting the trans. I dont know for sure about it but I also dont want another crossmember. The BW1356 is lighter and doesnt need another, but I agree the 205 is better stronger
