I changed out my manual master cylinder to powerusing a booster from a 69,,Now I am wanting to go back to just the plain ole manual system, heres the problem, the only master cylinder I can find has the different sized resivors, I read they need to be the same size for manual,,also in changing out the old original system, I discarded the original master cylinder rod, So,,do I need to find a master cylinder with equally sized resivors?? and where can I find a short,67 only rod for manual ?? or could I just cut a latter rod off to size??
My new motto is NEVER throw nuttin away!!!
67 only,,again?

i'm not sure about the size of the master cylinder resivors. i thought they were all different sizes or two different sizes per master. one is for the front and the other is for the back. my 67 has a regular master cylinder with different size resivors. as far as that rod your screwed. they cant be modified as far as i know. the only other way to get one would be if they came in the box from the parts store. but i don't think they do any more. i would leave the power brakes on it.

re: 67 only,,again?
I can check my parts bins to see if I still have a '67 MC that came on my truck (or from my '67 parts truck). It might be at least a few days until I can do that though.
However, it doesn't specifically have to be one with similar-sized resevoirs, as long as it's a drum-brake MC. The over-the-counter '67 drum-brake replacements have the large/small setup....but you WILL need the rod....unless you want to install the brake/clutch pedal mounting bracket from a '68-up truck so you have a wider pool of parts available from donor trucks.
