It does eventually take it's toll, but sure is impressive what an old Ford can do.

I bought my '70 from a roofer. Are you in the house moving business? I've always thought that if I could be in any business, money aside, I'd want to move houses and other large things that normaly shouldn't be moved.

My father in law has a housemoving biz. I worked w/ him for a few yrs, & could have my own company if I wanted- but housemoving is rough work. Not so much the physical labor involved, but the red tape of permits & insurance, stress of moving a massive load down a public road w/ idiots driving everywhere, getting & keeping workers who aren't stoned, stupid, or in jail when you need them...... the list goes on & on.

I did love doing it, though. Nothing quite like moving a 38' wide load on a set of 90' beams down the middle of a major street in San Antonio. Its a real challenge, but it is fun at times.

Heres one pic I found. I'm in the yellow truck winching the house forward to help the black truck, which is actually pulling the house:
