Post by lightning_msd »

hi guys,
i know this is a very stupid question, and its a lil off topic,
but does anyone know what type of transmission fluid goes into a 87-91 AOD Automatic transmission?, the dipstick doesnt say (my brother or the one under the hood), my owners manuel doesnt say, i know it takes mercon, but i thought there was different kinds of mercon like mercon V and mercon lll, i dunno? :?

My 88 F-350 with a c-6 takes Dextron IV. Find your owners manual and dont put the wrong stuff in!
In life many men take the path of righteousness, some take the path many others follow (G.M. owners, for example), some take a more arduous path, some a simpler path. I, sir, took the PSYCO-PATH!!

Should take mercon 3.

The newer mercon will also work with it, they make them backwards compatable somehow.

Then you can use the mercon3/dexron stuff from your local auto store or even (yuck) wal-mart

I think the (c) he is referring to is a copyright marker.
