f-600 parts interchangeability

Post by 55vicky »

There is a big u-pull-it yard with a nice website in Binghamton NY that I am going to Friday. They have 4 f-600's. I was wondering if the shift collar and shifter linkage would fit my '70 f-100. I need the z-bar and clutch fork yet
for my c6 to np435 swap. Also, how about the dash pad, are they the same?
The oldest f-150 is a '77, but ton's of 80's and 90's. About 1800 vehicles
altogether. Only one Mercedes.
Happy Thanksgiving

The dashpad is the same, but the clutch pieces you're looking for will be different. If they have the round-gauge instrument panels, definitely grab those....if you don't use 'em, you can still make a decent profit selling them here (or on E-bay).

I honestly don't know....but I wouldn't hold your breath. However, if you do get those steering column parts, let us know what the differences/similarities are.

no those columns are different. i don't think they would work on our trucks. i don't think the f 600 had automatics or column shift manuals. if you had a floor shift you might be able to use the shift collar. the cancellor i don't know.

Yeah, the collar is what I believe he's after, to replace the column-shift collar currently on his truck with a floor-shift collar. I know the whole column won't fit, but it's (remotely) possible the collar might....but I honestly have no idea for sure.

Yes guys I was looking for the shift collar for a floor shifted truck just so it
will look right when the conversion is done. I got 2 dash pads, one is perfect
the other only has a 1" crack in it. I also got 3 gauge assemblies, the painted
one has a hole for the vacuum gauge although is was already gone. The other 2 have only the speedo but they are chrome with black fronts. I cut my
hand under the dash and it was bleeding a lot for just a small gash so I left
before I was done. I will go back next week and get a couple more pads and
dash assemblies. After I sort things out and decide which one of each I want
I will offer them for sale here, I don't believe in bleeding everyone out of as
money as I can so they will be reasonably priced.
I finally took the starter off and my engine is a 1984 351w, so I am looking for the rest of the clutch linkage and flywheel to fit it.
There was also a couple of perfect black steering wheels out of '78 & '79
f150's which I will get if anybody is interested.
Great weather for huntin' parts, Dave
