I just put in a new C-6 with a new converter. I am using the stock tranny cooler in the bottom of the radiator. How many quarts of fluid do I need. Please only respond if you know for sure. (The people who respond by suggesting looking in the repair manual are appreciated but not helpful)
Thanks Jack

re: How Much Fluid C-6
The Chiltons says 25.5 pints, which is a little under 7 quarts, but that's not considering the fluid in the converter. You'd 10-11 quarts to fill the pan and converter.

be sure to buy a whole case.
and- make sure you put about a quart of oil in the torque converter before you put the transmission on, or else you'll burn it up.
man, when i first put my engine and transmission in my truck, i forgot there was tranny oil in the trans, i pointed the tail of the transmission down, and boom 25.5pints of tranny fluid on my driveway.

You'll need 12+ quarts.
