How many Qts of Trans Fluid in C6?

Does any one know off hand how many Qts of Trans Fluid I should be dumping back into a C6 Trans after a Fluid Change? I have found Numerous Spec Sheets but all seem to have a different answer!

Also - What is the BEST type to use in an OLD Trans with Unk Miles on it - in Colorado at 6K Ft elevation?

my book says 25.5 for 70-73 it doesn't list anything older of course its chiltons

gosh, that's a lot of fluid.

i hope my FMX doesn't take anything near that.

His Chilton's is listing the capacity in pints, not quarts.

oopps i missed putting that in 25.5 / 4 =6.375 quarts. 7 quarts

Mine took 12 qts and the converter still was full.

I don't think i used all 12 think i used around 11 like 10 and a partial. But if ya get 12 you will have enough for sure. Always good to have some on hand just in case of emergency

if you drain the convertor... buy a case fer shure.
