Stupid Question
On my '68 F100 with the 3 on the tree w/overdrive, do I pull the lever out or push it in to engage the overdrive?

whichever way makes the RPM's drop when you are going down the road.
Never had one, so I cant help more than that.

In life many men take the path of righteousness, some take the path many others follow (G.M. owners, for example), some take a more arduous path, some a simpler path. I, sir, took the PSYCO-PATH!!

re: Stupid Question
From the '68 owner's manual
Barry
"Are you gonna make it all 220?"
"Yeah 220, 221, whatever it takes."

re: Stupid Question
When my dad gave me the truck, he told me the overdrive slips out of gear and not to mess with it. Well, I left it alone for several months.....until three days ago. I engaged it and after 3 or 4 miles it slipped. It was just like if you pushed in the clutch and gave it some gas. Anyway, now I think the OD is still engaged and I can't get it to disengage. This morning, I tried to drive it to work and it was slipping again. I was trying to move the OD handle and apparently the cable broke. So now I guess I have to manually disengage the OD unit. Just when I finally had everything working good, I had to go messing with the stupid OD!!
