FMX transmission:
so there's 3 lines
one line by the tranny fluid fliller neck
one that comes out near the front of the transmission, and then goes back torwards the rear of the tranny
and one that comes out near the rear.
what 2 lines to i hook my transmission cooler up to?
a friend told me that the line that's by the filler neck is probably an overflow/vent. is this true?

re: fmx tranny lines
On my fmx there is one line that comes out of the passenger side rear and immediately turns back and runs forward to the bottom of the radiator.
There is a small vent tube up by the filler tube that is open.
The 3rd tube also runs down the passenger side parallel to the first line. As it passes the front of the oil pan it dog legs to the driver side of the radiator and connects there.
The only other openings I know of are the speedo cable hole, and the modulator hole that hooks to the vac line running up to the intake manifold.
Hope that helps.

re: fmx tranny lines
The cooler lines should be double flare type fittings. A vent line should be just a barb with clamp?
My '67 had factory type cooler(mounted on tranny) so lines went every different direction. Took it out few years back, so I don't recall what's what.

re: fmx tranny lines
Just got home and checked the lines. The vent tube is about 10 inches long and come up by the filler tube and runs to the rear where it dead ends.
There is one cooler line that starts just below the filler tube. On my truck this is the one that dog legs to the driver side rad. fitting.
The other cooler line is the one I mentioned before that starts towards the rear then "J" bends and runs forward to the passenger side rad. fitting.
I'll post a pic tomorrow when my wife brings the camera home.
