re: NP435 PROBLEMS
the last year for the fe in the 2 wheel drive F100 is 1976 the last year for the fe in the f100 4x4 is 1975 . 1975 IS the last year for the f100 4x4 everything from then on is a F150. Again look for a 1976 F150 4x4 with a 360/C6/205. Most of the 4x4s I have seen have the 4 speed with a dana 21-24 or the np205...

I will do that. If I do not locate one soon I might just put a 460/c6/np205 in since they seem to be more plentiful and I can get a fuel injected 460. A few more ponies under the hood.

re: NP435 PROBLEMS
I sealed it with silicone and tested it today...I checked the pressure plate and flywheel and they are fine. It worked well I drove through several deep water holes with no slipping. The water was shooting up the drain hole in the inspection cover and around the edges....but I am still going to install the 460/c6/np205 in it someday and even the one ton running gear so I can run much bigger tires like 38.5 to 44's depending on $$$$ Thanks all

One thing you might check is the cross member behind the motor, they are bolted in on C-6 trucks and riveted with manual tranny trucks.
Should you go to a C-6 unless you make that cross member removable the C-6 will have to come out the front after you pull the motor.

re: NP435 PROBLEMS
the c6 trans behind the fe did happen but not with a married 205.
they had the dana case behind them back then.
But i dont see why the 205 set up out of a newer truck wouldnt bolt to an fe c6??? If worse comes to worse you could change the output shaft on the trans if it is different.
I think its the same though...

On my fe I had to have the area whre the bolts go to the crank shaft opened up by a machine shop when I did my centerfoce clutch. The pressure plate is to large for the stock opening. Just my 2 cents, Doug
