Booster insalled PERFECT! Read if you are adding power brake

Post by fonzf100s »

Hi all,
Just a heads up. I was having problems with finding a booster that had a rod long enogh for my pedals, after trying a '69 Bendix, a '79, and so on with the coresponding brackets. Well, today I went to the junkyard and found a '73 one ton wrecker with a dual diaphram booster, and noticed the rod was longer than any I had tried, so I pulled the booster, bracket, and brake and clutch pedal assembly just to be sure, and came home, praying it would hook up, and the booster was still good. It was, and everything hooked up beautifully WITHOUT changing my pedal assembly!!!! So, just a word of advice to anyone adding power brakes, if you have a manual transmission, get the brackets from a 1 ton '73, '74 ford truck, and if you get a new booster from Advance Auto or wherever, get a booster for a '73 F-350, it will be the dual diaphram and they are the best booster!!!! Good luck,

Fonz
Heyyyyyyyyyy, keep 'em cool, keep 'em on the road!
