Brake to the floor, also

Post by farmtruckman »

Reading a similar posting, I have the same problem but have bled the system, nothing leaking. I am thinking that the shaft from the booster to the pedal needs to be adjusted shorter since I now have power brakes but the pedal doesn't engage until almost to the floor. This is a 67 with a new booster/master cylinder set up installed. Has anyone adjusted that shaft to allow the pedal to engage sooner?

I have. Try it. It shouldn't take much. It the rod from the pedal into the booster the right one?

also there is little keeper on the shaft that looks like a seal on a new bottle of shampoo, the center is cut into three sections that are bent forward. make sure it is in its groove or else you won't get full pedal either
