part #'s for 79 Bendix Dual piston caliper Disk brakes...

Post by turbocharged400sbc »

the title is for future searchers...
right now i have front end work i have to do on my fathers mistress's 97 E150 conversion (4.6) I am throwing on the front ball joints and shocks as well as repacking the wheel bearings again...then i have plugs to do...

AND on to the good part...

on my 68 F250CS i will be throwing on the front end and possibly the rear end from a 79 F350 2wd that had a 460 and C6 (which werent present...damn) i stripped while in Socal
it has the dual piston front disks that i REALLY want, it has new kingpin bushings/pins and rotors.
the rear is D60 (i dont know what ratio yet but i'm hoping it's a 3.55 so i can get better MPG than 3.73) with the 12 inch by 3 inch drums and 35 spline axles (i have another 79 F350 rear in my garage that was under my 1986 F150/350 frankentruck i junked out)

I also scored the proportioning valve, but the dual diaphram booster and brakets i needed were stolen from the back of my truck at my last job :(
so along with the master i need that stuff now too....or maybe i will try manual disk brakes :hmm:

SO i got some parts for me while i got the parts for pop...
TIMKEN Parts #
79 Disk brake wheel bearings
INNER w/ race SET47 x2
Outer race 15245 x2
Outer bearing 15101 x2
Grease seals 493637 x2

"TIMKEN because nothing says i love you like, MADE IN THE USA"

:D I gotta spoil Bertha now...i'll be loading her heavy...

I have to order the loaded calipers soon but i have the other brake hardware parts (i dont need the F350 rear drum stuff cause everything from the 86 F150 D60 rearend is brand new)

BRAKEWARE (79 F350 2wd with Bendix dual piston calipers)
disk brake hardware kit H5533 (made in china... )
has two pad retainer springs, two slide blocks and 2 of the slide block
arch spring
NOTE package also says:
Replaces
Wagner F97900
Raybestos H5529A
Bendix H5533

Caliper Block retaining bolt (x2) H5025 (Made in USA!)
NOTE
Replaces
Wagner F102554 and F732375
Bendix H5025

I got all this at autozone...along with some parts for the twin engine 442... :D
i got some stuff fer the other 3800 going into the front

BTW /\ That is why i need the massive brakes on the 68...the car weighs 4330lbs race weight plus a 1500-2200 lb trailer (dep on who's i borrow :) )
means lots too stop! its not like flat towing the 84 toyota cressida up rt 66 from SoCal, the drum brakes were adequate
plus the 33' tires and 3.55 gears would help with MPG since i have that handy granny for starting the load moving...

I will update my parts list as i get em...i want to get new rubber TIB arm bushings i have new rubber one's for the 79 radius arm i was gonna make work with the 68 frame location along with the loaded calipers

Then i can swap it all...which is much easier since all my Toys...er tools are now in my garage :D
I will be getting the title and registering it soon :drive:

BTW Keith when this happens youll finally get my 68 and 79 beam numbers...maybe sooner if i do some cleaning up

Regards, James

I still have to do the class 4 hitch and LED brake lights in the bumper, 86 F150 bench seat......ya'll know how it is
