9 3/8 rearend

Post by Maxum96 »

How many out there have the 9 3/8" (or 9 1/2" as it's sometimes called) rearend in your truck? I thought mine was a 9" until I decoded the tag and realized that it was a 9 3/8" rearend. I was a little bummed out as I know the 9" is far more common and easier to get parts for. Just curious how many people out there have this rearend in their truck.

That rear end was common in cars more then trucks. The factory was simply slapping things together because the 9'' is far better then the 9 3/8.

Don't be too bummed, a 31 spline 9" center section will fit in your housing no problem if something bad happens to it. A stock 9-3/8" is actually just as strong as a completely stock 9".
