Power Brake Install/Finding one
I was wondering how hard it would be to install power brake on my 1969 f100. I know all you have to do is unbolt the master cylinder and then bolt on the booster and attach vacuum hoses to the intake manifold. Is it really that easy? Also, my truck has a 360 engine. What different models and years can I get the booster from? I think there is a f100 truck at the local yard that has one but I think it is like a 74. Thanks!

It is really that easy. If it's helpful to you, you can read my project log starting here:
http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... 0182#50182
It discusses a couple of the items you'll need, such as a correct sized vacuum distribution block. As far as where to get the booster, a junkyard would be a good spot. If you buy a new one (from LMC or somewhere), you'll still need to get the brackets that attach the booster to the firewall from a junker.
I don't know the answer to your question about the 74 booster.

re: Power Brake Install/Finding one
I was looking at this booster/master cylinder assemble from Advance auto
http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDeta ... 50&ptset=A
To hook the vacuum up, there is a plug on my engine on the intake manifold for vacuum, right now I have a end for a vacuum gauge can't I just get a nozzle on the end to hook the pump up to. My truck doesn't have that vacuum tree like you were talking about. Do I still need to get the bracket with this set up from advance auto? Thanks!

You need an empty vacuum port off your manifold that is large enough to connect to the rather thick vacuum tube that goes to the booster. If you don't have that now, you need to get a tree from a junkyard, or, I suppose there might be aftermarket trees. I haven't looked.cghstrojan08 wrote:To hook the vacuum up, there is a plug on my engine on the intake manifold for vacuum, right now I have a end for a vacuum gauge can't I just get a nozzle on the end to hook the pump up to. Yes, because that booster won't bolt to the firewall properly. It needs the brackets.cghstrojan08 wrote: Do I still need to get the bracket with this set up from advance auto? Thanks!

Is there a place where I can get an aftermarket bracket? I don't know of any junkyards around me that have any trucks left near mine. What years am I looking for to find the bracket? Thanks!

The booster mounting brackets aren't being reproduced, so you'll have to get them from a junkyard. Just be sure to get the correct brackets, as there are several different booster styles, and I'm not entirely sure they interchange.
There's a cantilever-style booster that has unique brackets, and there are pics of that particular style of power booster down at the bottom of THIS PAGE, Figs. 6 & 7. Those won't work. You need to find a booster that has a straight rod going into it from the brake pedal, and swipe those brackets.
Anyway, it appears from that picture that it's the single diaphram version. You'll need brackets for that style, that'll look like this:

Here's a picture of the dual-diaphram style with the brackets, these are the pieces mounted on my '67:

If you still need a set of those brackets let me know I have a set in my garage.
If at first you don't succeed. Get another beer.
