Dana 60 axle spline?

Post by snake »

Can someone help me with the axle size (dia) and spline for the Dana 60 rearends??

I don't suppose it would happen to be the same as the Ford 9" 31 spline axles would it??

Thanks!

not sure on the diameter or spline, but i do know the dana 60 is a full floating axel and the 9" is not. the full floating axel has either 8 nuts&studs or 8 bolts (depending on the year) holding the axel in.the 9" dosen't.

The D60s from our rigs are only 16 spline and the newer Ford bought Danas are 30 spline.

The 16 spline has a 1.18" shaft and at the splines it is 1.30".

I believe the 30 splines are 1.5"

Pat67shorty. I am not for sure but I don't think Ford did 35 spline unless it was above a F350 or special order. I know the military chevies are all 35 splines in the front.
