It want bolt up. There is a different bolt pattern on the bellhousing.
1969 Ford F-100. 302 4 barrel, C4 auto, 9in 3.50 open rear, headers, power steering, Turq/wht, Under restoration. In other words, in a million pieces!!!

c6's are mostly for big block engines.
a c4 or fmx tranny would bolt up to your 302
also you would need 302 engine perches.

FE engines 352, 360, 390, 406, 427, 428 and other lesser known FE engines share the same bellhousing pattern. 289, 302, 351 Windsor, 351 Cleveland, 240, and 300 engines share the same bellhousing bolt pattern for the most part. Although a bellhousing for a 302 will bolt to a 351, the starter sits too close preventing it from bolting up (found that out the hard way years ago). The small block C6 bolts up to 302's and 351's and there is no interference with the starter. Small block C6's were found primarily in 351 powered vehicles from 1971 on. If you find a C6 that was bolted to a 351M or 400M, it uses the 429-460 bellhousing pattern even though the 351M-400M are derivatives of the Cleveland family. I used to have several of the factory hi-po small block C6's with the factory 10" torque converters and rare flexplates that I got out of a junkyard for $50 each with converters. Gave them all away when I sold my Mustang.
