2/wd to 4/wd conversion
Now I am going to make my 1970/1977 into a 4 wheeler. Is it possible to do such a feet without cutting the frames motor prech? I think it would work if I lifted it up high enough. Now I have the 1977 F-250 3/4 frame. I know I am going to have to move the streering nuckel to in front of the wheel, no problem. Change the streering colum shaft. What linkages would I use? Will I have to change out the engine mount preches? It has a 302 with a NP435 4 speed with a NP 205 transfer case. I got it to fit all in and bolted up. But it is still 2 wd. I just bought the A/C unit out of another truck for the swap out for that as well. I took aload of flicks but I don't know how to download them for all to see.

re: 2/wd to 4/wd conversion
This question comes up fairly frequently, and the general concensus is that it would be much easier on yourself (and your pocketbook) to get a 4WD chassis to mount your body/drivetrain into, as opposed to converting a 2WD truck to 4WD. While anything's possible with generous applications of blood, sweat and money, the question you need to ask yourself is 'is it realistically feasible?'.
You'd at least have to cut out the large 2WD crossmember for clearance for the front differential. The front half of a 4WD frame is boxed from the front crossmember to the transmission crossmember, so that would have to be done. Then you'd have to get and mount all the necessary mounts for the steering box, leaf springs, shocks, track bar etc etc.
In the long run, you're going to have a lot more time and money invested into converting it than you'd have spent just getting a 4WD chassis from a wrecked or rusted-out truck and swapping your body and drivetrain in.

In life many men take the path of righteousness, some take the path many others follow (G.M. owners, for example), some take a more arduous path, some a simpler path. I, sir, took the PSYCO-PATH!!

re: 2/wd to 4/wd conversion
Anything is possible... Just get a high enough lift to clear the axle. Im converting my 67' over and want the original frame. I have a 12" lift on mine though so will clear the front easily, although I have a front frame clip of a 78' F250 for the leaf hangers (3" wide) and the 4x4 crossmember if I feel like just swapping out the crossmember. Looks like Im going to try to keep the 2wd one though, the newer trucks mount the power steering cooling line to the front of that. Then of course will the power steering box I want to use fit in front of the crossmember, probably the big question. Still stripping down the front end to get a clear view of what I got...
